We recently conducted a business case for a customer based in the UK to automate their cleaning processes. Their brief was to remove carbon, oils, paint and other contaminants from engine components.
The company had 5 mechanics working in their workshop and they estimated that each mechanic spent on average 5 hours per day manually cleaning parts. The company wanted to investigate if an automated cleaning system would be economically viable for their business.
We carried out a full benefit calculation based on labour savings and additional production benefits. The tables below outline the savings in labour, shown in time and money and the additional production benefits shown in time and money.
